Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean Bonaire, Netherland Antillies (June 2010 & 2011)
Back for the 2nd time and no less spectacular.  There are good restraunts, places to see and things to do other than diving, but this is a diver's island.  Rooms come with a pickup truck and unlimited tanks.  The reefs are healthy and sealife everywhere. On Thursday a wave hit as we were exiting the water and my camera lost in the light surf.  Gone!  Luckly I downloaded my photos the night before.  I will go back to Bonaire again.
Saint Kitts and Nevis
Saba, Dutch Caribbean
St Kitts & Saba  (March, 2011)
A week aboard the Explorer Venture II live aboard.  Comfortable cabin, good food and 5 dives a day.  Boarding at St Kitts, diving there three days, moving to Saba for three days, then depart for home from St Maarten.  St Kitts was good, Saba dissapointing.  Vis was not good, but the boat and crew made the trip fun.  Diving with EV again in October.
British Virgin Islands
British Virgin Islands   (January 2010)
We could not pass up the opportunity to sail and dive the BVI's one more time.  This is the Caribbean like you imagine, you can almost feel the ghosts of pirates that used to ply these waters.  Protected waters make the sailing easy going and the diving is excellent.  The combination is perfect for a great vacation.
Mexico (Cozumel)
Cozumel (November, 2009)
Has always been a great diving destination.  In 2009 we stayed at the Iberostar, all inclusive with 6 days of diving.  A little rain didn't deter spirits.  Saw octopi and splendid toadfish plus two small lion fish.  Have now seen lions on every trip for the past 2 years.

Cayman Islands
Grand Cayman  (June, 2009)
Cobalt Coast was excellent.  Nice accommodations, nice people and beautiful water.  The on site dive operator, DiveTech, was the best equipped shop at any resort I have seen.  Want a scooter, no problem, pony, OK, Nitrox or Trimix, just ask.  Shore diving was a long swim, but a nice dive.  And a quick ride to their second shop for another shore dive.
Philippines Philippines!  (February, 2009)
Wow, the other side of the world.  40+ hours travel and 13 hours time difference.  Dive sites are not pretty.  Rocks, sand, they call it muck diving, but there is no doubt you are in the south pacific.

Honduras Roatan, Honduras  (November, 2008)
After 2 trips to Roatan, I have not been impressed.  The weather has not cooperated and the resorts not up to their reviews.  On other side of the coin, the diving was very good, and the look and feel of West End was great.  Walking down the dirt seaside street, it just felt like a place divers belonged.
Belize Belize  (November 2007)
Back to Belize, this time on the Nekton Pilot live aboard.  What a trip!  Five dives a day.  Not plush accommodations, but acceptable and comfortable.  I will do that again.
Costa Rica Costa Rica   (October, 2006)
On the west side of Central America it really is another ocean, and you can easily see the difference.  First, there is very little coral.  I only saw a few patches on the east side of rocky islands.  Problems with air, sometimes very poor vis and a pretty rainy week did not deter the pleasure of diving the Pacific side of Central America.
Bahamas Bahamas  (November, 2005)
BlackBeard's Cruises is like camping at sea.  Although it doesn't feel as crowded as you might think with 20+ guests and 10+ crew on a 70' sailboat, this is a diver's vacation and not a luxury cruise. But good diving and fun!!
Turks & Caicos (Grand Turk) Turks & Caicos  (October 2004)
Grand Turk island is the capital of this small county on the east side of the Bahamas.  There was nothing to distract us from the best diving I have seen up to now in the Caribbean.  Cristal clear water and abundant wildlife were on every dive site.  Wading out to the boat was not the best, but once on the boat, the diving was easy and excellent.
Belize Belize  (Ocober, 2003)
Is located on the western side of the Caribbean, just south of Mexico.  What makes Belize unique is that it has the only atolls in this hemisphere.  Beautiful diving, excellent vis and abundant color, a diver's paradise.
